Summary
skillSYMS includes a public microsite (landing page) you can build, theme, and publish to your subdomain. Use it to showcase your programmes, tell your story, display accreditations, and capture leads. This guide walks through each content section and the draft-then-publish workflow.
Who This Guide Is For
- Training providers wanting a public-facing web presence
- Marketing and admin staff managing content and enquiries
- Anyone capturing leads from prospective learners
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- Admin access to your skillSYMS tenant
- Your site name, tagline, and logo URL
- Content for the sections you want to show (hero text, about, FAQs, etc.)
Step 1: Open Public Site Settings
Navigate to Settings → Public Site (/sdp/settings/public-site).
The editor uses tabs—General, Theme, Hero, About, Programmes, Contact, FAQ, and Trust—plus Preview, Save Draft, and Publish actions. A status banner shows whether you have a published version or unpublished changes.
Step 2: General & Theme
On the General tab, set your Site Name, Tagline, Logo URL, and Favicon URL.
On the Theme tab, choose your Primary, Secondary, Text, and Background colours, and a Font Family for the public site.
Tip: The colour pickers and hex fields stay in sync—type a hex code or use the swatch, whichever is easier.
Step 3: Hero & About
On the Hero tab, add a headline, subheadline, primary and secondary call-to-action buttons (text and URL), and an optional background image. Toggle the section on or off.
On the About tab, enable the section, add a title and body (HTML supported), and an optional image with a left/right position.
Step 4: Programmes & Trust
On the Programmes tab, set a title and subtitle—programmes are pulled automatically from your active programmes in skillSYMS.
On the Trust tab, add testimonials and a title. Accreditations shown here come from your configured accreditations under Settings → Accreditations.
Step 5: Contact & FAQ
On the Contact tab, add your email, phone, WhatsApp, and address, and choose whether to show a contact form (which captures leads).
On the FAQ tab, add questions and answers with Add Question.
Step 6: Preview, Save, and Publish
Click Preview to view your page at desktop, tablet, or mobile width. Click Save Draft to store changes, then Publish to make them live immediately on your subdomain.
Captured enquiries appear in Recent Leads at the bottom of the page and in full under /sdp/leads.
Tip: Publishing overwrites the live version instantly and prompts for confirmation. Save and preview a draft first.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Editing but not publishing: Saved drafts aren’t live until you click Publish.
- Empty enabled sections: Turning a section on without content shows a blank block.
- Contact form off: Disabling the form means no lead capture from that page.
- Programmes not enabled: Programmes only display if they’re active in Programme Management.
Verification Checklist
Before moving on, verify:
- Site name, tagline, and logo are set
- Theme colours and font are chosen
