Webinars: Management & Registration

Run marketing webinars in skillSYMS β€” create and edit webinars, manage registrations and attendees, and publish public registration and replay pages.

For: Training Providers Administrators

Summary

The Webinars module powers your marketing webinars β€” creating webinar events, collecting registrations through public pages, managing attendees, and offering replays. This guide covers setting up a webinar, publishing its registration page, and tracking who signs up and attends.

Who This Guide Is For

  • Marketing and admin staff running webinars
  • SDP admins promoting programmes through online events
  • Anyone managing registrations, attendees, and replays

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • An admin account with webinars access
  • The webinar topic, date, time, and presenter details
  • Copy and imagery for the public registration page
  • A plan for where you’ll promote the registration link

Step 1: Open the Webinars Admin

Navigate to Admin β†’ Webinars.

The admin list shows your webinars with their status and registration numbers. Use it to create, edit, and monitor events.

Tip: Set the date, time, and time zone carefully β€” these appear on the public registration page and in reminders to registrants.

Step 2: Create a Webinar

From the admin list, click New Webinar and enter:

  1. Title and description
  2. Date, time, and duration
  3. Presenter details
  4. Registration settings

Save to create the webinar in draft.

Step 3: Edit and Finalise

Navigate to Admin β†’ Webinars β†’ Edit.

Refine the webinar details, landing-page copy, and settings. Review everything before you publish, since the public page reflects what you enter here.

Step 4: Publish the Registration Page

Once published, your webinar gets a public page at its slug where visitors can register. Share this link in campaigns, emails, and on your site. Registrants receive a thank-you confirmation after signing up.

Step 5: Manage Attendees

Navigate to Admin β†’ Webinars β†’ Attendees.

Track who registered and attended across your webinars. Use this to follow up with registrants and measure turnout.

Step 6: Offer Replays

After the live event, the watch page lets registrants view the replay. Promote the replay link to people who registered but couldn’t attend live.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  1. Wrong time zone: Double-check the displayed time matches your audience.
  2. Publishing too early: Finalise copy and details before publishing the public page.
  3. Ignoring no-shows: Use the attendee list to send replay links to registrants who missed it.
  4. No promotion plan: A registration page only works if you actively share the link.

Verification Checklist

Before relying on the module, verify:

  • A webinar can be created and saved
  • Details and copy are finalised before publishing
  • The public registration page loads at its slug
  • A test registration appears in attendees
  • The replay/watch page is available after the event
